The Oscar-nominated director of “Black Swan” told Alex that she had a “good eye” for casting after being very involved in the decision to cast Jared Leto and Marlon Wayans, and that she “should continue in her casting career”.
Alex then moved over to the television side of casting where she was the Associate Casting Director on “Friends” for its final three seasons, which eventually lead to her current position at Ulrich/Dawson/Kritzer Casting. She has been a Casting Director and a Co-Casting Director for UDK Casting since 2004, working on various television series including “Grey’s Anatomy”, “The Boys”, “Station 19”, “All Rise”, “Supernatural”, “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist”, “Shooter”, “Quantico”, “Nip/Tuck”, “Crisis”, “Journeyman”, “Conviction” and several television pilots.
Alex ‘s career took a turn into the musical world when the Fox Pilot “Glee” came into her life. She worked as the Associate Casting Director of “Glee” from its inception Pilot through its final sixth season. “Glee” also provided Alex with the opportunity to be a Co-Casting Director of the reality series “The Glee Project”, in which the winner was awarded a (7) episode recurring Guest Starring arc on “Glee”. In addition, she was Associate Casting Director of the Fox television remake of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”.
With a career defined by an exceptional eye for talent and a deep understanding of storytelling, Alex continues to be a sought-after Casting Director in the industry.
